Authentically-restored to late Victorian grandeur, the Castle is a museum, a special events venue, and a B&B filled with history and beauty.
The second-story Rose Suite features a spacious sitting area, a recessed bed alcove, marble-topped dressers, and a clawfoot tub.
A romantic four-poster bed, a magnificent armoire, and a vibrant stained glass window hanging are featured in the main floor Peacock Suite.
Greeting visitors to the Castle’s second story is a gallery of pioneer Clatskanie residents’ pictures, antique clothing and accessories. In addition to the Rose Suite, the second story includes the Clatskanie Historical Society’s artifacts and archives in five rooms.
The second story balcony, once Tom Flippin’s smoking porch, offers a sweeping view of the Clatskanie valley and the Coast Range foothills.
Just inside the Castle’s front door is the Salon, the central reception room with entrances to the study, the dining room, the music room, and the staircase.
Divided from the main Salon by a pocket door, the Castle’s Study offers comfortable seating surrounded by antique volumes, original wainscoting, and portraits.
The original green-tiled hearth, an art glass chandelier, and a collection of antique, china, glassware and silver grace the dining room.
